So I didn't want to screw up my Aux light install and created a simple wiring diagram. before I did anything. This applies to anything that you want to wire to a switch(es). FYI the other pics are from my iPhone so quality is s***.

I'm still waiting for them. I ordered 2x 28 LED lights and if they work out I'll install a total of 4. Wires are all run and ready to go.

I dropped the headliner and drilled holes in the roof for the wires. I installed rubber grommets between the metal and power wires so they don't strip and then sealed them with "seal-all" to prevent leaks. While I had the headliner down I opened up a can of worms and reupholstered it black. I also painted the 2 dome light housings, map light/temp gage setup, a-pillars, the vertical handles and I'm finishing up the reupholstering of the sun visors. I left the horizontal handles gray for a bit of contrast and I really dig it. Pics will be up once I finish the sun visors.

EDIT: I also just installed a matching handle on the driver's side, I still can't figure out why know why they don't have on there.

dam sounds like you went to town on your Q, id like to see some pics of the interior once your finished with it.

and just a lil tid bit of info, (not knocking how you wired your lights, this is just how i was taught) whenever i wire lights or anything thats drawing power, one if possible i prefer to use relays, or if im using a switch to switch the full power supply to the load, i switch the ground side of the circuit, i see people switch the power side and it causes the switch to heat up and burn out,my buddy burnt out 3 switched for his fogs before he rewired them and switched the ground. from what i know, giving constant power to the load and switching the ground end up in less current flowing through the switch, obv because the load is not only using power its resisting it too, so with the switch having less current flowing through it it heats up less and is less likely to burn out.

again im not ragging on your set up or your methods, u've already proven you know what your doing when it comes to car electronics, i just figured id throw that info out there, and im curious what your opinion is, on my opinion. again nice set up.

The last few things I wired from scratch were applications where the battery gets disconnected when not in use. So that was my mindset, I never considered how the switch could wear out if constantly fed voltage. Chalk it up to a lack of knowledge. If wiring the ground to be cutoff is a better way to go then I will definitely switch it. Here's some pics of a project I'm re-doing with a higher res LED backlit(lower power consumption) LCD module, it's for a underwater video housing. It's amazing what you can do with the right tools.

Why do you always have some douchebag response? It's almost as if you search out posts to which you can reply with some a**hole response in an attempt to ruin someones day. Instead of that condescending reply, you could have given him a helpful pointer or not respond at all. Also, you only re-posted what Natedogg1701 posted, which really is not helping anybody.

it's funny because you recommend that i give a "helpful pointer or not respond at all," yet your own post doesn't help anybody here either. and oddly enough, yours is a douche bag response as well.

ah, the irony.

Well I do have a few different gigs. My main one is designing and building massive VideoWalls like the one below, sorry for the poor iPhone pic. My "fun" job is working in film as a producer/director/post production guy. I SCUBA dive for fun and already had pro camera gear so I figured I'd buy a housing for it and modify/improve it.

There is no helping him. For some reason he's a bitter ***hole that likes putting people down. I'm guessing either he was dropped as a child, teased a lot, or his mom drank while she was pregnant. I'm sure one of those 3 is a winner.

What is the biggest video wall you have done. your jobs/gigs are sweet its hard to find something you actually enjoy doing and have someone pay you for it.

The biggest wall I've done was a 16 cube wall (8x2) @ Hawaiian Telcom in Honolulu, HI which included 3 LCD touchpanels that controlled the Cubes(rear projection displays, kinf o like TV's), VideoWall layouts, and the massive 5 zone 28 speaker distributed audio system. We also built an amazing conference room for them that had it's own touchpanel control system with audio and displays. The 12 cube wall in the pic I did a few months ago for Comcast Cable in Atlanta, GA and I'm in the process of designing another one for another branch on the East Coast. We started off as a furniture company which we still build and that's why we've got the CnC router plus lots of other cool machinery like vacuum formers.

How did you get the wires from the switches all the way to the roof and to the back?

Well the other day I realized why I wired them the way I did. It's because I believe that the LED's in the switches wouldn't light up if wired with the ground as the cut off. Does that make sense?

Well I got the rear lights up last night and took some pics of the whole setup. I'll try to take some night shots to show how much light is being output. The front HID's are insanely bright and the rear lights really output a good amount and are perfect if someone is tailgating me. They came in chrome plastic housings so I took them apart and painted them but no biggie.

Thanks! I got the safari basket from a dude that used to have a shop and now sells from his house. If you call Surco(manufacturer) and ask for 5 Start Auto in LA that's who I bought it from. If you do get one don't buy light mounts from them, I had some custom ones fabbed up that are much better, lighter, and cheaper then theirs.

Thanks, it's been a long road and I'm far from the end. Here are a few night pics so you can see how bright the lights really are. I kept the exposure the same on the comparison pics on the wall so you can tell the difference between the headlights/running lights and the new lights. Keep in mind none of them have been positioned for optimal output yet.

I really like that pic, your truck looks really good! I think your next big purchase should be wheels and tires, that will make it look like a whole new truck.

Thanks Pwnin. It hasn't been washed in weeks and I'm somewhat embarrassed but money has been tight. I ordered a set of wheels but they've been backordered for 6 months. I decided to go to a new reseller yesterday and I'm supposed to get pricing and ETA today. A few weeks ago at a Supercar Sunday/Toys for Tots drive I saw a truck that had my rims. Waddaya think? 17x9's
