I have an auto SR (with manual conversion) and my TPS has definitely gone bad (.07v closed and very irratic the rest of the time). Problem is its I find it difficult to find an AUTO sr20det TPS. Is there a state-side one that will fit and plug into the 6 wire harness (auto 200SX??)? If not, is there a way to rewire it without having to swap ECUs or anything?

thanks

Use a TPS off of a B13 Sentra SER with an SR20DE. It is the same as the SR20DET.

If you want to keep the auto TPS you can but try rewiring it to how a manual would work.

So you keep the white wire, black wire, splice the light green wire and red wire together, and get rid of the yellow (?), and blue wire(?).

yeah. just to make sure its not mechanically different than the auto because maybe the throttle bodies are different too...

The throttle bodies are the same. I used to have an auto SR and swapped over a manual TPS. It bolts on, dont worry.

Ok so i got the TPS, it will fit, it just has the connector ont he opposite side...

Problem is I dont know the pinout on the new TPS. I dont have the pigtail for it so i was just going to solder the wires from the auto tps directly on to the new connector pins.

Hi... Did you ever get this working... ? Because i have an Auto TPS also.. Just found out that my car used to be an auto. I suspect the TPS to be faulty and wanted to measure the volts out of it.. But couldnt as the manual just stated that there should be 3 wires.. and i got 6 wires like you.White, black, lightgreen, red blue and yellow.. Can i use the same method to measuring like a Manual TPS? If so do i only use the white, black and lightgreen to measure between.?? Please get back with some info... Did you solve the problem by changin the TPS?

Thanks

Jacob

yeah I got it working. The wiring in the 2nd post is correct, I basically held up the wires to the pins and had someone read off the AFC what the throttle positon was to make sure I had it right, then just soldered on the wires.

btw- the TPS I got (91 SER) IS NOT just a bolt-on Im not sure why this misinformation has spread or maybe I just got a weird one, but since the connector goes backwards, it hits the coolant pipe so I had to cut off the black surround to the pins and bent the pins to fit...just used some black silicon to cover them up.

ok so

white wire, black wire, splice the light green wire and red wire together

and if i just solder them to the plug does it matter which plugs i solder each wire too? or does it not matter?
