I just got my AC and just started to read on NICO... if its already posted please send me the link or better yet tell me.

I want to install an AMP, the best way I saw to get a power line inside was from the glove box http://forums.altimas.org/zerothread/325092 . I have a RCA converter already so all I need now is a remote wire for the amp. I found out that the purple/yellow is the remote but I don't want to take a part my HU. Is there a remote wire I can tap in the trunk??? and what the hell is this black and white wire ??? it plugs into nothing

Can you guys post a few picks of your speaker boxes/amp layout you have in your AC??? I original wanted the JL HO box but I guess I have to customize a box now because of the small space... I have made 6 boxes before for my other cars but I wanted to see what other ideas u guyz came up with for the AC

I ran my power wire through the rubber grommet that the bundle of wires go inside the cabin on the driver's side. I also tapped the fuse for the 12v dc outlet for my remote. If you want some pics just let me know.

The best place I found to run power wire was right below the pics in the thread you referenced. In fact, the location I used is visible in those pics. Look at the second pic and you'll see two concentric circles below opekone's thumb. I drilled through the firewall there. Once I did that, I installed a grommet I purchased from AutoZone or some other parts store. Here are some pics. This location will allow you to drill any size hole and run any size power cable.

Doc also posted a guide to the wiring for the non Bose system here for what it's worth.

What back/white wire are you referring to? I don't believe there is a wire you can tap into for remote turn on in the trunk for the non Bose system. You could always run a relay from the ACC wire as well, and run a wire from the relay to the trunk. This is probably your safest bet.

Also, removing the stereo really isn't that difficult. You should be able to have it in and out in under and hour. Running the remote turn on to the trunk wont be too tough either. Just run it right along side the power cable for your amp.

Did you make that box or is it a box produced for the coupe?

Thanks in advance

8 gauge wire? that's kind of small isn't it? what's the RMS wattage of your system?

Man, I'm using 8 gauge stereo/power wires going from my amp to my subwoofer... but to power an entire system.. 8 gague is goog up to about 400 watts RMS, anything over that, and you risk underpowering your amp... always better to go with slightly thicker wire than necessary!

someone sells this box specifically for the A/C on ebay!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWDVW

you can get one or two openings for 10" woofers.. however the actually chamber size is VERY small... most woofers want more than .62 cu ft

Looks like the RF punch 325.2 which would put him under 400 RMS. Just a quick glance at Crutchfield shows they recommend 8 AWG power/ground, but it will accept up to 4 AWG. Not sure why 8 would be recommended if 4 is possible, but whatever. I've never run anything smaller than 4 AWG in any of my cars (and that includes my first setup of 2 crappy 12s getting like 175 RMS each).

That guy on eBay is selling that box for $120 plus $40 shipping?!?

There's maybe $50 worth of parts there (and I'm way over estimating that). Just build your own. It's really not that difficult, and you can then design the enclosure for any internal volume you want. Just takes some minimal handy-man skills.

That would be the wires coming from my 6x9s to my line out converter.

VQPWRD - What fuse did you tap into there for your remote wire? That is my biggiest problem. Ive done this to every vehicle ive ever installed subs in. My last one 1999 Tahoe for some reason caught on fire because of that wire going to the fuse box. Needless to say im kinda scared to run another one there now. I found a fuse tapper and wondered if that would make it safer?
