Alright, well the other day i decided to wire in a keyless ignition for myself so i could look trick and have one more piece taken off the steering column. I have a switch that turns power to the igniton and then a push button that puts power to the starter when depressed. I wired it it using the stock ignition switch wiring (i just cut off the turny-end).
The only thing i kinda spaced during the wire-up is the accessory and horn wires. I didnt think i needed them because my car is gutted and i dont have a radio/speakers. BUT what i overlooked was that the blue wire also controls power to the windshield wipers, which would suck *** if i didnt have them and got caught in the rain.
So, my long question cut short is - If i were to wire a switch to control power to the accessories, what should i get the power off of?
I dont really want to splice into the live wire that currently sends power to the ignition/starter switch. I'd like to somehow make it so that i can just switch on that button if i'd ever need my windshield wipers.
I'm not an electrical genius, and wiring my ignition switch took a couple of hours sitting with a voltmeter and trying to guess my way through it. A couple of trys and a couple of igniton fuses later, i got it to work to my liking.
Also, any mods, if this is in the wrong section sorry, you can move it to wherever you'd deem neccesary.
