I'm having terrible troubles. please help. There's a brown Clip on the KA24E S13 Chassis Harness up front. There are eight wires coming from this clip. The Colors are as followed.

1st Row, Left To Right
1 Brown (Has Power)
2 Brown (Has No Power)
3 Pink
4 Yellow With Green Stripe

2nd Row, Left To Right
1 Green With Orange Stripe
2 Black With Yellow Stripe
3 Black With Yellow Stripe
4 Red With Black Stripe

The Wires I have Coming From The CA18DET Harness are as Follows

Green With Orange Stripe
Black With Yellow Stripe
Brown
Black With Pink Stripe
Green With Yellow Stripe
Purple
Gray
Blue With White Stripe
Red With Black Stripe

Notice how there's 9 Wires loose from the CA18DET Harness and 8 in the Brown/Orange Clip I have to plug into on the KA24E S13 Chassis????

Please Help. This is the only thing keeping my car from running! I will post pics soon.

:wtf2:

what wiring guide are you following? As long as you follow the SR20DET Wiring guide it should work, regardless of the amount of wires. Thats what I did and I've been runnign strong for 2 years now.

I followed the guide from FR Sport.

link-to-the-fsm-and-wiring-info-t114956.html

and it did not work, unfortunately. IF you're running a CA18DET in an S13 that had a KA24E Originally, do you mind telling me what wires are connected with your brown clip.

I followed the instructions from the above thread.

If that's electrical tape I see on those wires, I'm gonna lock this thread until you post up a pic of those wires being properly soldiered and shrink wrapped. Electrical tape is a BIG no-no.

I've never seen white shrink wrap but OK. My first CA swap was in a KA24E and I don't recall having any color matching issues. Are you sure you're seeing your colors correctly? Sometimes they fade over time and don't look like they should.

Likewise, I've never seen white electrical tape. but anyways. I color matched all the wires and it failed me. I've been searching all morning for a straight forward answer. google.com gives me the same results. the FSM from Phase2Motortrend is not downloading and I'm not sure where else to get the FSM. I'd really like to cross reference the wiring and I had a guy come out and look at it and we did just as it says in the link up top. If you click that link it brings you to another thread on the board, there's a link on that thread about the CA18DET wiring being solved by the SR20DET Wiring conversion. It's from FRSport I used the diagram written on that page. it did not work for me. I don't have some of those wires on the KA side or the CA side, about half the wires don't have mates and I'm still trying to figure out what wires go where and do what. If I had a KA24E FSM and a CA18DET FSM, I have my Nissan Master Technician coming to day. so If I can find those, I'll be better off for when he arrives

Thanks Float. I actually looked at these earlier. the list of the KA stuff was confusing and I overlooked pretty much everything. These are good. I'll get everything I need from here. Thank, sir. Hopefully I'll have a post of a much happier nature later today. Thanks again.

I too put my CA into a KA24E chassis, still have a non working tach to show for it... I used an SR wiring diagram and actually redid the wires in each plug so they matched the way I needed them to and it worked fine, when I get home I can search for the wiring guide I used.

The tach is a known problem with the KA24E's. You have to use a DOHC tach. The signals are different. This is the same with an SR.

this is the guide I used for my swap. I thought it to be a little easier to read through than the FRSport Swap.
