Hello all, I'm new here and new to being an Infiniti owner. I'm glad to have found this forum though because there is lots about my car I can learn here and can hopefully find some answers to questions I may have, like the one I found out I had right away.

I own a 2007 Infiniti G35 Journey with the premium and nav packages. The 6-CD changer is located in the trunk. Everything I read in the manual and on the Internet tells me that this audio system is supposed to play MP3s. It does, only in the in-dash slot. When the same CD is inserted into the magazine in the trunk, there is no sound played (I can see it reading a single track and can see some rolling numbers on the console.) Any regular CDs, whether written or store bought, play just fine from the CD changer, only MP3 CDs don't.

Did I miss some fine print somewhere that said that MP3 CDs can only be played in the in-dash slot? Or do the CDs have to be written in a particular way?

Any help I can have on this topic is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to NICO!

I would think that the cd changer and head deck are two different players, and maybe you just cant play MP3's out of it.

If you can play a MP3 in the deck, but the same disk doesn't play in the changer, it's probably not your format. I'm surprised that they have a cd changer when the deck can hold 6 too.

Some of the guys might have a better answer for ya. In the meantime, check out the audio forum...though most of those guys don't own a new G

I had the same problem... MP3 CD's wouldn't play in the CD Changer in the trunk, but will play fine in-dash. My fix was to just rip the MP3 CD's to the HD.

FYIOn the '07s, if you have Nav, then you have the Hard Drive based musix system, which replaces the in-dash cd changer with a single disk, but adds a 6-disk changer in the trunk.
