Wire Up My Starter

i replaced my started and it still just clicks when i try to crank her up...so now i think it is somewhere in my wiring harness that is faulty....can i wire starter to switch to battery.......please let me know this problem is getting on my nerves.......

i did it on my corolla i ran the power wire strait from the battery and it worked just fine.

There are two wires on the starter.

Major wire = 12V power2nd wire = Switchable ground

Make sure both are still connected, if they are then you need to try hitting the starter with a hammer (yes, believe me on this).

If that starts the car then you need to go and get another starter as the one you got will continue to give you that same problem.

so the big wire that is screwed tight is the positive.....wire that one to my battery....the other skinny one ground it through a switch right

can ya label the wires (ground, Relay,Posotive) from a picture please

There are only two wires, one is thick and has a ring clamped onto the end of it. That is the power lead from the battery and it goes onto the big stud that is sticking out of the alternator motor.

Right next to that should be a small 5mm tall "pin" or another bolt down stud. That is where the signal goes which is the thin wire in the wiring harness.
