wire short?

Hey guys. recently my car has started this interesting habit. when I turn the key to engage the starter, when the starter starts to turn, the tach often jumps and spazzes out going to random numbers, when the car starts and I let of fthe starter, it returns to normal. anyone have any ideas or feedback that might help?
