Pulled out my spare harness to check for you, but it's not connected on mine either...

I'm pretty sure that wire gets connected to the main ignition power with another thick wire, but I can't remember which.

Edit: Yup just checked the wiring info. Here's the link it's about 3/4 down.

i have the blue wire with the red stripe connected to the large black wire with red stripe but thats at the plug. this part of the wire is just hanging out by the ecu connector, and it also runs to the coils. im just wondering where the hell this part of the wire goes.

oohh, I thought you were on the other end of the harness. If it goes to the coils directly, the it SHOULD be connected to the ignition relay, which should be built into the wiring. I don't think that wire goes anywhere near the ECU plug. maybe it goes to the ignitor? Ur harness sounds like it's hacked up pretty badly.

One of my harnesses is like that, too... Maybe there's an evil importer chopping these wires before he sends them? Just a theory...

Swap wise I have mine connected to the the Black/Red thick wire. Just wondering, but did you hook up thin blue/red and thick black/red?

nope i cut off the ca plug and connected the thick blue/ red wire to the thick black/red wire. also i tested the wire and its the same one the goes to the coils and to the plug i cut that i has all the wires i need for the swap. so this wire goes three ways. it also has 12 volts running though it.
