I recently bought the 1.8 S. The stereo is not the best. I went to rip it out and put in a new one when i realized that nissan changed the wire harness, which they haven't changed in about 10 years, and i can't find one. Any insight on this?

Don't have any ideas on the wire harness but I bet a lot of folks would like to know how you got the radio out!! There have been several to ask how to remove it.

Anyone have any ideas on how to add a line out converter to the Nisssan Versa so that I can hook up 1 12 inch sub and 1 mono amp??

It can be done according to a car stereo store, but they want $300 to do it. I said screw that.

Thanks!!

On some amps you can use the signal from a speaker. The amp will filter out the bass and return the rest of the signal to the speaker unamplified.

You can also purchase a signal splitter (cross-over filter) if your amp cannot do that.

The amp will then do its magic with the rest of the signal & send it to the sub.

I am about to go deaf with my 10" sub in my versa.... such a small car. The bass is turned all the way down on the horrible stock radio and it still rattles my ear drums

I'm picking up my Versa 1.8S on monday and have already researched replacing the stereo. I spoke with a rep from Crutchfield, and they have a dashboard fit kit for the versa, but the harness is not available yet. so if you want to install a new stereo now, you'll have to splice wires. not a big deal, even if you've never done it before. i'm upgrading the whole system right away.

as an aside, crutchfield is BY FAR AND AWAY the BEST place to buy a car stereo. free fit kits, extremely specific install diagrams, lifetime tech support, etc. they really make it easy to buy a stereo. i've installed two stereos with speakers in two separate cars now and it's super easy.
