My 94 Q45 has an aftermarket head unit that was installed in it when we bought it, the car is also wired already for 3 amps, the previous owner must have had the speaker wires from the amps in the trunk running to behind the head unit and connected to the factory wires going to the speakers. Now when I install my own amp(s) If I use the existing speaker wires that run from the trunk to behind the head unit I need to know what color wire is going to what speaker, I was wondering if anyone who has installed an aftermarket head unit with the harness that goes from the factory plugs ( in the car) to the head unit would know what wires go to which speakers? The car has aftermarket speakers already. The wires I need to know most are the front dor speakers as I can run speaker wire from my amp to the rear speakers sperately from what is in the car now. Thanks.

1st: Space some of your writing out a bit more. I'm getting vertigo just trying to read it.

2nd: Is there an adapter connecting the aftermarket radio harness to the stock harness?

Or has the stock harness been cut and crimped onto the radio's?

These might help as well.

And of course the other half of the audio wiring diagram.

Ok then. I would first start by pulling out the HU. I don't mean get rid of it, just pull it out so you can look at how it's connected. To find the speaker wires just follow them from the back of the HU into the harness. Note that on ALL HUs that I've seen the eight speaker wires are in the same section, and each speaker gets one color, one solid color one with the strip.

This should make life easy for you.

sorry I should have replied sooner, I got the harness color code from Metra, and all the wiring that I had to do is done.

Thanks anyway
