so I took the dash apart in my vert with the intent to swap the analog cluster for a digital one.

While I was in there I also removed an anti-theft "secure key" attached to the key harness, (afaik it only touched the key harness).

The digital cluster didn't work so it sat in pieces for a couple of weeks. eventually I put the analog cluster back in and put the dash back together.

while the dash was apart I swapped the pop-up front for a silvia front with dual PJs... I didn't splice any wires I had sub-harnesses already made up from the guy I bought the front end from so it was all just plug'n play.

---------------

went to drive the car yesterday and the wipers wouldn't work... it's an intermittent switch and none of the functionality works (FWIW washers have never worked in this car because the pump isn't connected). the wipers DID work before the dash was taken apart, granted the last time I drove the car was a month or two ago...

this morning I-checked the plug at the wiper motor, it's clean, no breaks, clipped in snug, I reseated it for good measure-checked the plug at the stalk , it's clean no breaks, clipped in snug, I reseated it for good measure-pulled, checked, and reseated the fuse in the kick panel, it's good

I was going to check the wiper-amp too but it's not in the same spot as my S14 so I'll need to figure out where it is on this car.

Tonight or sometime later this week I'll pull out a multi-meter and the FSM and go through the whole damn thing, in the means time does anyone have any ideas what could be going on?

Switch/ green box under the hood/ motor. Other that that, maybe go though the schematics and trace wires.Good luck man.

ok... so I pulled the switch out of the car and using the truth table in the FSM confirmed that all switch functionality is normal

I then went to the motor to confirm that it had power and ground and found that the 12V line was dead... (this is the line that comes straight from the fuse)

checked power at the fuse and it's dead too...

-----------------

I've sat back down and startted pluggin through the FSM and found that the line going to the fuse box comes from Accessory relay #1 and also manages:-rear wiper (vert doesn't have one)-power mirrors (vert doesn't have them)-cigarette lighter (haven't checked it)-heater/AC (haven't checked them)

SO... I'm going to guess that my HVAC and lighter don't work right now.

it's either the relay, or if it's not the relay it's the key switch, since the key switch is what activates the relay.

I'll look closer at the relay stuff tomorrow.

UPDATE: accessory relay 1 was bad, swapped it out with the AC relay and everything started working again... total pain to get to though, I had to pull out the kick panel to get to it.
