Wipers stuck in upright position

The wipers work, but when the wipers are turned off they stop in an upright position. The previous owner of the car had the wiper motor replaced but that did not fix the problem. Any ideas?

Probably no help but turn them off sooner or later, and turn it off with the wipers set on the lowest setting. I dont really know whats up with that

yea have tried that even tried shuting the car off when the wipers are at the normal off position when the car is turned back on the wipers will still return to the upright position , previos owner had the timing modual tested and is tested fine.....

You should be able to just push them down manually to the correct position. It's happened to a couple other posters, and that seemed to do the trick.
