Wipers: Getting rid of dirt streak at the bottom of the windshield

If you drive in winter on salt covered roads you know what I'm talking about. That pie shaped streak of dirt that never comes clean at the base of the windshield (roughly 2/3's from the drivers side). I am unsure if it's a function of my frameless wiper blades or soemthing else.

Well in frustration I decided to fix it. I used a small piece of steel wire, inserted it into the washer jet on the passenger side (there are 2 clustered together, I re-aimed the leftmost one) and re-aimed it directly where the streak occurs. Voila! Problem fixed.

Bring on the snow and salt!
