Rear wiper not working properly. When I put it on intermittent it goes half way up then the washer fluid poors out. I then turn it off and it just stays where I turned it off, does not return home. I can toggle the switch between off and intermittent and I can do the whole window but its a pain.

When I put it on full time it does nothing.

I swapped out the rear wiper motor with another one and same thing.

Can the switch be taken apart or checked to see if its working? Other than the switch, the motor and the fuse (which obviously works), is there anything else I'm missing?

I searched but can't find anything.

Thanks

Mine does the same thing. The day I brought it home I tried it once just to see if it works. It stopped halfway. I forced it back down by hand. I am not concerned about it working or not.

But my question is this: Do we even need a rear wiper in the first place?I mean how much detail do really we need to see out the back anyways?

I never understood the purpose of the rear wiper. A wet or dusty window is still transparent enough to tell whether or not there is someone or something behind you. Maybe a wiper would be handy on a low angled rear window of a hatchback if it was covered with a thin layer of snow and I am too lazy to brush it off, but that's it. Other than that I can see no other reason to ever use it.

Wiper multi function switch replaced, still have the problem.

Any thoughts? Fuse is good, motor is good, switch is good.

I always like to be able to see out a clear rear window.

Not to mention that we're a bit spoilt in Canada, with vehicles requiring daytime running lights. When my rear window gets really messed up, I can't make out anything behind me except for the glow of headlights. If I were in the states, I wouldn't be able to tell if someone is behind me unless I checked my side mirrors.
