I recently came up with a new bug in my wiper system. When in intermittent mode my wipers stall and then resume. When in normal full wiper mode there is no delay. Has anyone had this problem? If so, what should I do????

thanks

I'm a little confused...what you're explaining is exactly what is suppose to happen on intermittent. They pause then wipe, pause then wipe.

Don't think I'm calling you stupid...I'm not. Can you explain the situation a little more? Are they stalling mid swipe or something?

Uhm, that's what they are supposed to do isn't it? Intermittent by pausing in between passes. Otherwise, what do you mean?

Oh.... they are supposed to delay?

Duh!

The wipers (after I turn them on) go all the way up and then on the way down stall in the middle and continue on their path downward. This happens when I use the single swipe feature or on intermittent but does not happen when I have the wipers on slow or fast.

LOL OK! That makes more sense now. They shouldn't do that. They should do one swipe (up, then all the way down), pause, then repeat. They should not pause mid swipe on the windshield. I would suggest taking it into the dealer. Might be something wrong with your wiper board (I had something close to this on my S-10 which the circuit board had to be replaced).

I also have a bug in my wipers. When the temperature is really cold (-20C or so) the wipers operate continuously no matter which position the lever is in. To resolve the problem I have to work the lever up and down several times untill they stop. The problem resolves itself when the interior of the car warms up. I mentioned it to the dealer but they have no idea why this happens.

frankohabs... Yer an Ottawa feller, this ever happen to yours?

Tony Graham on Robertson Rd, Bells Corners. Your winter gas mileage is similar to mine. You running on snow tires? That combined with slush, snow and crawling around in 2nd gear really sucks the life out of your tank.

Whew! Bought my previous car at TG's -- not unhappy with them and gave them a chance to sell me a V but they didn't get back to me! [I'm as anti-Walkley as you can get!].

Was on the highway yesterday coming back from TO [that was fun, I'll tell you] and got "summer highway mileage" -- that was nice!

I'm on stock Contis still; haven't had a problem with them either winter; have the CVT . . . what's 2nd gear?

Hey,

I purchased my V at Walkley. Is there a reason you are anti-Walkley? So far, I haven't had any issues with them.

My story is found elsewhere here, but I'll repeat it again.

First, I went in a few years ago when I started looking [was torn between an Altima and a Mazda 6] and asked what they'd give me on a trade . . . after an elaborate schpiel the sales rep [he said he was a manager of some sort] came up with the grand total of "we can stretch it to $300". Fair market value on the vehicle was $2,500-$5,000, according to my sister who was financial person in a dealership out of province . . . so that put me off right from the get-go . . . and he made me feel like he was doing me a favour even to talk to me about me taking a car off the lot. I said "fine" and drove the car for another couple of years [btw, dead -- ps and water pumps not working, I got $500 for it].

When I decided I wanted a V I e-mailed the three Ottawa dealerships and Hawkesbury [didn't even think about Gatineau -- duh]; RendezVouz in Hawkesbury came back to me the next day and we initiated talks. I all but decided to buy from them, but my wife [who had stopped into Walkley with me another day to look at a V] said we should go back there [we had met with a "nice" salesperson], so we did. He wasn't working there any longer [I guess he wasn't obnoxious enough] so we wound up with another guy . . . newer, from our neighbourhood [actually, as we found out, a friend of our next door neighbour's!]

The rigmarole started. I asked how much his bottom line was; he asked how much I wanted to pay monthly -- you know, the formula to make as much money as they can. I kept pointing back to "bottom line price", he stuck to formula. Finally I said "I can buy this car elsewhere for "X" number of dollars" and he did the "I'll talk to my manager" thing. We waited for a couple of minutes; my wife [who was with me] asked "what's going on?" and I told her that it was the game some dealerships played. He didn't return and didn't return and didn't return and finally we said that enough was enough and got up to go. As soon as we did, he came back and said "if you an get that deal elsewhere, take it", and we left.

Two weeks later he called back. "Still looking for a Versa?" he asked. I said "You told me that if I could find the deal I told you about elsewhere to take it, so I did".

All that to say that it was quite a different experience with RendezVous than with Walkley and I won't go back there [and since they are moving I won't need to pass by their building on my way to my office every day from now on either, which makes me happy].

Glad you had a good experience with them -- I've seen a number of V's tagged with their sticker . . . but I haven't talked [in person] with one person who has had a good experience with them.

I go out of my way to 417 Nissan for work, and have been quite happy [TG is too far away]

Second gear??? I have a six speed manual. Fun to drive.

Fortunately I didn't go thru any of that $hit at TGs. Went in told them what I wanted and they got it for me. My salesman was very professional. No hard sell or pressure. He gave me a list of models and the options available for each and then we went home and decided what we wanted on the car. No problem. I had some loose cash so I paid a good down payment. Got the rest for 0.9% financing. Servicing since then has been painless and fortunately, I have had no serious problems with the car.

BTW, my gas mileage is improving too.
