Wiper Arm Splines?

Hey dudes,

K, heres the skinny, my driver's side wiper ceased to work. So i checked it all out, the splines on the wiper arm itself are stripped, so I went to my dealer and ordered a new wiper arm. Problem is, the new arm doesn't have any splines to mesh with the drive itself! Is this how it's supposed to be? Is this a friction fit? The dealer has no clue so they are ordering another wiper arm and drive for it just to be sure, but i don't want to wait and was hoping you kats might have an answer,
