I am trying to replace the driver side cowl and need to remove the wipers? I have removed the cap and bolt but the arm doesn't seem to slide off. Is there a step I am missing or do I need to force it off?

they tend to stick, might be a good idea to hit it with some penetrating oil and if it won't wiggle off you might considder using a puller

I've done this a couple times in junkyards, the best way is to grab a screwdriver and a hammer of some sort, GENTLY pry from underneath with the screwdriver while tapping the top of the bolt with the hammer. Don't bang on it, just give it a couple taps, should pop off. Usually sounds like a gunshot when it finally comes off.

Best way I found is using a small gear puller.

If you pull on it, it doesn't pull strait because you are pulling from the wiper arm so it is tilting and not coming out strait. Hit is with some pb blaster or wd 40, then tap on it with a hammer as you wiggle on it. It won't come off easy. eventually after tapping it with the hammer, pb blaster and wiggling it all at the same time it will come right off, just rock it back and forth while doing all of the things till it aligns up strait and pull it off strait. ;)

I would advise aginst prying it with anything, your liable to break, crack dent, scratch something.

this is for a rear wiper delete but use similar method of removal .

So the easiest way I found out is to take off the bolt then move them up to the middle of the windshield and lift them up like your about to wash your windshield and they should just lift off easily
