Hi everybody! I have tried to get an answer as far as installing 17 in wheels on my 2006 Infiniti M45 Sport but have not been able to produce a definite answer despite my web searches. There is a current set of 17 in wheels available to me off a 2003 Infiniti G35 but I am unsure if they will fit. I am trying to stay away from 18 or 19 in tire wheels.
I would greatly appreciate any answers.
Also, I was curious as to what current M45 owners do for their winter setup. I am fully aware of the detriments of RWD in winter but with a right wheel/tire combo I believe it can be overcome.
I also have a 2007 Lexus GS350 and have 18 in rolling stock but I purchased Michelin Primacy MXV4's for it and they do descent.
Thanks ahead of time. Ziggy

Hi and Welcome to the forum

I have recently got my M35x and I am about to do my first winter with it! Ive also made the same decisions as you, and choose to go with 17" for a winter set.
I got mine off a 2004 G sedan If my memory is correct. I am planning to install them on Monday.

I think that you should be alright, but I can only confirm it after installing them.
Just make sure its off a G sedan and not a coupe; if my information was correct, the G coupe is staggered.

As for RWD handling; I'm pretty sure with good winter dedicated tires you should do fine.

Well, I am still shopping for my winter setup. The G wheels are still available but I don't want to be holding the bag when they don't fit. Gotta pull the trigger by the end of Saturday though, it's going to get slightly cold an I don't like black ice.

Okay, so according to my convoluted calculations I extrapolated that a 225 55 17 tire will work correctly for my stock size of 245 40 19. Basically, I just ordered tires online for winter; they will be here in 7 to 9 days. I ended up purchasing General Altimax Artic winter tires W/ studs. Now I have to purchase wheels and I'm done.

Thanks for everybody's input.

Good call on the thinner tires. Where do you live that you can legally use studded tires?

Doesn't your sport come with a BBK or is that the g's only?

I live in Spokane WA and studded tires are allowed after the 1st of November. Not to sure on the brakes. In the meanwhile I'll drive my Lexus GS 350 until I get my tires. Yah, as far as tire width I know a larger footprint on ice equals less psi and therefore less friction thus my 225 tire W/ studs. I'm sure the torque is going to be hard to manage when starting to accelerate from a stop up a hill.

Awesome, but I think I'm buying steelies. Not sure though. The tires literally took me about 2 weeks to figure out.
