Hello,

Have a 2011 Rogue SL w/the 18" wheels. I would like to get a seperate set of wheels to place new winter tires on. Since the 17" wheels are less expensive and more readily available - Can I simpley swap the 17" wheel on the car (with winter tires) for the winter and then back to the 18" oem's (with all-seasons tires) in the spring??? Will that create any issues? Do I need any special wheels from any particular year, or would any 17" do? And what about the TPM - will that still work?

THANKS!
MJ

Hi,

Do I need to get a 2011 wheel set? Or is any 2008-Present ok? Found this set of (what I belive are new) 2009 rims online for what seems like a decent price:
http://www.theautochannel.com/autoparts ... items.html

Thanks again!

all nissan rogue rims are the same fitment. they might be different sizes/designs/metals- but they can be swapped back and forth onto the same vehicle without any adverse effects.

Hey - one more question if you please.

The 2011 have a TPMS. The 2009 I'm looking at say no TPMS? If that's the case, do you know if my TPMS light will be constantly on when this set of wheels is on the car? Also, shouldn't all the wheels from say 2006 on have TPMS included?

Thanks again.......

they might not be included in the sale, but all rogue have them. all cars after 06 if im not mistaken are required by law to have them.

yes your pesky tpms light will always be on. but thats even if your winter rims had tpms sensors. the issue is our computer will only hold 4 codes. thats unlike the lexus rx350 that can hold 9 (two sets of rims +1 spare) so unless you re-program the tpms sensors every time you swap your tires, your light will be on.

i personally have this light on when i have winter rims without tpms and i dont care. i simply check my tires and drive the same way i have been before the days of pesky, full of faults, tpms sensors.
Also, shouldn't all the wheels from say 2006 on have TPMS included?
yes, but who is to say they were not taken out to re-sell to someone with a broken sensor? ;)

your car will NOT act differently just because your sensors are not installed, nor programmed. i drive like this all the time in the winter. heck, even my rogue has this light on 75% of the time because my right rear sensor is weird and likes to get intercepted by radio and magnetic frequencies.

oh and ps: just because the rims should come with tpms, doesnt mean a regular run of the mill valve stem cant be mounted. i mounted regular old school rubber valve stems on my infiniti rims that should have had tpms sensors. 2 years without a problem (just have the light on when i use those rims.)

Is $600 for a set of 4 17" 5-spoke "Y" style a good price you think?

post a pic of the rims? new? with tpms? etc.

i could do a better deal than the 600 on these new Juke rims:

So the guy came down on price - The wheels are in excellent shape and he has all lugs/bolts/caps but no tpms.

A friend suggested I look for 16" steel wheels (As this is only for 3 months of use per year for winter tires). I found a set of 2009 Rogue S 16" steelies (with hubcaps) for $100 total for the set. I realize the 17" Y-spoke alloys look wayyy nicer...

... but can you tell me if the 16" steelies would fit on my 2011 Rogue which has 18" alloys? And if - besides the look - it's just worth it for other reasons to get the alloys?

Tnx!
