Hello all:

You will be able to tell that only northern states or us Canucks would post this type of inquiry. I have used Michelin X ice 2 tires in past but since I have purchased the 2011 Murano, with the 18 inch tires I see that Michelin does not make a tire suitable in the X ice series. Does anyone have any recommendations for winter/snow tires? I appreciate any/all input.

My thanks

Chuck

Chuck,
I have had my Murano Limited since summer of 2009 and use Bridgestone Blizzaks from Tire Rack.
Gets me to my son's Hockey games all over Wisconsin with plenty of snow and ice!
Cheers!

If you opted to go for a new, "all-season" tire instead, the Goodyear Fortera is awesome from what I have heard!

I have a 09 Murano S, I live in the mountains of Utah, I am getting my 2nd set of Goodyear Fortera triple tread I drive in everything imaginable on curvy mtn roads, dirt, mud, down the mtn heavy snow
and thru over a foot of snow no issues. only issue was dealer put 235/55/18 instead of 235/65/18 the first set was when they first came out didn't have correct size (low profile type) last half of warranty with my conditions but otherwise great tire am getting new set tomorrow 235/65/18 dealer great with warranty. tire pricey but worth it can find online little cheaper than dealer

I live in Western PA (Greater Pittsburgh area) and this is my first winter with the CVT in my Murano. I'm used to driving down hills and downshifting, even with an automatic, to avoid using the brakes. What do you do going downhill in snow and slippery weather since there is no 'downshift'?

The Murano is actually very "sure-footed" in snow, slush, and ice. The winter tires would be even better but probably more so for driving in deeper snow. I think you will be pleasantly pleased and not even have to worry about down shifting.

Thank you to all who posted replies for winter tires. No snow where I am yet. I am not in a hurry for frozen tundra, but....I have made a decision on winter tires. I went with the Yohohama Geolander I/T G072 series. Very aggressive tread and long tread life. I went with the P235/65R 18 size.
I will let you know when the snow piles up how I like them.

Geolanders should be awesome in winter weather!
