Hello,

This is my first winter in Montreal Canada and it is about time to switch to winter tires. Firstly, should i get P205/65R16 or P215/55R17?

I have a 2003 Infiniti G35 4 door sedan.

Can anyone suggest a couple of good brands out of their experience? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Blizzak's, you'll never regret it. I've used them since '99 on various cars.

I use Blizzaks as well. They're expensive but well worth it.

I also have a 2003 G sedan....

The Yoko all season Avid's were useless for our Canadian winter.

Last year I had Costco install the new line of Michelin Primacy winter radials on 16 inch rims. For day to day use I much prefer this tire to the V rated Avids.

The winter tire feels just as good on the highway plus they are much quieter (almost silent) and vibration free. They just make the car feel so much better than the Yoko Avids.

I am so impressed, next summer I will replace the Yoko Avids with Michelin Primacy summer tires.

One other thing. The Michelin winter tires are showing only 1/32 wear after one winter season (7,000 miles) which is very good for a winter tire.

For a performance winter time, Consumer Reports also likes the Blizzaks best.

Continental ContiWinterContact TS810 H is rated number 1, but it's snow rating is less than the Blizzaks (rated number 2 overall).

Blizzaks gets the check mark (CR recommended).

I subscribe to Consumers mag and appreciate their reviews.

I also use and follow the review results from Tire Rack.....
