I was wondering what is a good winter tire for the Pathfinder? Whats a good time to take of aftermarket rims? I was think end of Sept. Right now I have the Nitto terra grapplers on but they will be coming of for the stockers. The stock rims have Goodyear eagle LS tires on them. I used them last year and they sucked any little bit of snow and I had to use 4 wheel drive I didn't like them at all. I was lookin at the Bridgestone Blizzak tires. They have a good rating in snow. I was just wondering if anyone had any special prefrence on a tire that they have used on there Pathfinder in snow.

This is what I run in the winter, on steel rims.I usually don't change them out until late October or early November.

I have a set of Nokian Hakkapeliitta SUV's, mounted on stock Pathy rims. Picked them up last year, they felt great. Nothing negative to say about them yet. At times I wished I had them studded, which would have made them near-invincible in ice. But studs are a pain on plowed roads... and in the spring... and in places like parkades... and would have made them illegal in various provinces.

http://www.nokiantires.com/tyr...20SUV ... looks like they changed the tread design, it used to be like the Hakka LT.

Now that I have a garage of my own I'll probably grab them from my parent's place one of these weekends, I can take pics if you want. All I have now is a pic from last summer when I picked them up at the border and drove them back home.

I was looking at the Pirellies also, the Bridgestones had a slighty better rating. Another tire I just came across are the Toyo open country AT. Anyone have any input on those in the snow?

I had Yokohama Geolander's on my old Isuzu Rodeo and drove them in deep snow all the time with no problems, good tires and good reviews on them.

I might get the BFG A/T's this year though, I see those tires on trucks more than anyother make andmodel and BFG's are always relieable.

My Pathfinder had those on there when I bought it (it was a year old).Didn't like them at all. Sorry. They had poor wet traction and even worse in snow. I replaced them 2 years later.Unfortunately, I replaced them with Goodyears....even worse. That's when I decided to buy 4 rims and go with dedicated snow tires (BFG's) in the winter.
