So I hear that I should get some sort of winter tire since my 07 sport coupe tires are really more for summer. Can anyone make any suggestions? I went to Belle tire today and if I was to replace only the rear tires, they are like 700 for both (Dunlop winter sport m3) and they quoted me 1400 for an "inexpensive" wheel/tire combo - blizzak ws-50 with some sort of sport edition d3 wheels which also includes those tpms sensors. Any help is appreciated, winter is come fast here by Detroit!

I am considering the BF Goodridge Traction T/A for my 240 for the winter. My neighbor uses them on his 2K Mustang Cobra and swears by them saying that he has had no problem in the snow with them. I imagine that we here in Va. dont get nearly the amount of snow that Detroit does but they appear to be reasonably priced. I am going to put them on a set of stock rims with probably a 50 series profile. Below is a link with info. Hope this helps:

blizzaks are probably best bet, if you want a tire that works really well in snow/ice including all season get the Fortera tripleTred. One of the few all seasons that passed the traction index test that the winter tires have to go through.

Thanks for the suggestions, I had the triple tred on my explorer and second that reccomendation. I will look into how much I can get some blizzaks for, those triple treds are way expensive. Thanks again

We run Blizzaks on our G35 coupe with a half dozen concrete patio blocks layed out in the trunk. When my wife showed up for a service appointment during a snowstorm last winter here in Connecticut the service guys reaction was "what are you doing here?". My wife said the coupe with this setup ran better in the snow than the AWD sedan with all seasons that the dealership gave her as a loaner.

Dunlop Winter Sports on the Dakota R/T pickup and the truck handles with no problems

Blizzacks and Winter Sports are both excellent winter tires, but have to admit I'm more impressed by the Blizzaks

We also ran BF Goodrich Traction T/As on her 2001 Mustang GT and they were an EXCELLENT all year tire.We added the extra weight in the trunk again for snow. The Traction T/As don't grab like a snow tire, but she never got stuck either.
