Wasn't 100% sure of the responses last time.

3.5 SE has stock 17" obviously. If I purchase a winter tire package w/ steel rims, but 16", will this be fine? I would be using the P215/60R16 specs taken from the 2.5 model.

thx just want to be sure before I spend so much $.

I got stuck for over an hour today in like 5 inches of snow,, it was icy though, so car would not flipping move anywhere without being pushed.

thx

Get good winter tires. I had to help my brother push his friend's 328i out and it was on winters, Michelin tires and I guess X-ice really isn't that good on ice. The car digs in and hit the ice under and it just get stuck. Pushing was a pain in the rear end too since the exposed ice gives no traction to people either. Thank god someone happened by with one of those metal rail thing. That thing worked like a charm.

I was out in my SE R with Gislaved Nord Frost 5 tires and was fine all day. Deep snow, snow mountains left by the plows all of it was fine.

I'm curious: It shows Orlando Florida in your signature, so where the heck were you? Also, to my knowledge, it doesn't snow there, so why do you need snow tires?Do you commute to Canada or something?..LOL.

Hello, your information is correct. Go with the 16" 215/60/16 on steel rims. The 16" are cheaper and perform better in the snow.

You cant always just take the specs from a lower end car (2.5) with the smaller rims. In some casses the higer end car (3.5) may have larger brake calipers or other differences that would not allow for that rim.

In the Altima case it is ok, I am about to get a 3.5 and living in Canada I already checked into snow tires and will negotiate them when I purchace the car.

We just got about 9.5" of snow her in Ottawa. The snow at my frount door is up to the door knob.

Which dealer are you buying from? I've bought from Tony Graham in Bells Corners. No complaints.I put Canadian Tire specials on my Altima. 16" steel rims with snows. Bought them in September when they were on sale. The dealership had a similar package and wanted $400.00 more. No thanks.Car performs exceptionally well in the snow. Very happy I have them.I do the same thing on my Sentra. It also saves my aluminum rims from corroding.
