Randy

I have a set of tires for sale....

I usually put mine on the beginning of december..... It helps if you have them on a spare set of rims because that allows you to be able to bolt them on whenever need be and you can take them off if it looks like its gonna be mild for a while

December sound good. I might put mine on earlier because I'm driving to my wife's aunt's house in Dayton OH for Thanksgiving and I've driven in some nasty, early, snow storms driving in PA. Lucky for me when I've had the snow, I was driving my front drive Accord. It will suck driving 1500 miles on my soft rubber snow tires if it doesn't snow, but better safe than sorry. Get Bizzacks. They work great.

Hi

I also live in Ma (Holden), just moved from Buffalo NY. I use Pirelli Winter Sports from late November to April. They make a huge difference in the bad weather but still allow the car to handle well.

I also use Pirelli Wintersports. I usually put them on about a week before they forecast snow...then take them off around March. I have the tires installed at Costco for $25 for all four.

Wintersports are great snow tires. My wife used the Q as her daily driver even through the worst snow storms. The Q actually did better than my FWD Sentra with All seasons.

Sorry for changing the subject, but where do you MA guys get work done on your Infiniti's. One recommendation I received is Kelly Infiniti

I've had work done at Kelly before. Nothing major...just tuneups and regular maintenance stuff. They are much cheaper than the other infiniti dealers but they don't give loaner cars for cars out of warranty.

It was so much cheaper that I just rent cars from the enterprise across the street. I don't think that a G35 loaner car is worth $200 more that other dealers wanted for the 60K service.

wes-what kind of tires, how old, what condition, and how much? i appreciate the offer, but am leaning towards new at the moment... for those of you with the pirellis, are the wintersports the same as the one i found on tirerack.com: pirelli winter 210 snowsports? and if so, you guys are happy with them as far as holding up--staying round/true, up to the q's weight, etc? rover3l--i'm closest to kelly so that's where i go, but not that often. couldn't vouch for the other dealerships. i will say, the service manager (i think he's still there) is/was a q enthusiast--if i recall he owned at least 2 in the past, so that's good, and there's a guy, bill, at the parts counter that seems to know his stuff. i showed him a ripped up, cut-on-both-ends hose the other day and he identified it without looking it up. nice. anyway, for the most part i use my local mechanic, this forum, and that's about all. i do think about going in and getting a once over from a dealer tech at some point though, and that's where i'll probably go. i did have my 60k service done there, out of warranty and not originally purchased there, and they DID provide a loaner car, so i suppose it's possible that if you drop enough $ there, or arrange far enough in advance, they might have one available, particularly if the alternative is that you go elsewhere. who knows? hope that helps. randy

Gloucester... I would do about $100 for the set of 4 (2 are BFgoodwrich studded, with about 1-2 seasons left)... I can put my 2 cooper all seasons on the front... However, with shipping it may not be worth it... I have the set of piepans I want to get rid of... (non chrome)

Regarding the Pirelli Wintersports, yes they are the 210's to be found on tire rack. I had mine supplied mounted and balanced on steel rims supplied by tire rack and this was a good minimum hassle solution.

They seem a very good tire and the level of traction during cornering is great and I always feel in control. From a standing start however, it is still possible to easily spin the wheels on snow / ice but my solution last winter was to drive around with about 8 bags of kitty litter in the trunk.

Thanks for the info about Kelly. I will probably get them to do a thorough check of my active Q and then I can decide what do get done professionally and which bits I can do myself
