Hello, I'm looking for some advice on winter tires. I recently purchased an Infiniti M35, rear wheel drive vehicle. I'm starting to look for winter tires now to prepare for winter. My vehicle came with 245/40/19. I purchased 4, 18" Infiniti alloy wheels privately for the winter wheels and I have a line on 4 Bridgestone Blizzak LM-25 winter tires for sale at a good price. 2 - 245/45/182 - 225/45/18 My question is can I have to different tire widths on the vehicle as long as there not on the same axle? Is this typicaly done for rear wheel drive? Thanks, Alex

Do some research at http://www.tirerack.com

Be sure the tires meet teh OEM minimum load requirement. Don't know if the difference in rolling diameters will upset the traction control devices.

What does the OM say?

While you can do this with no issues, you probablty want 225's all around. You want narrower snow tires rather than wider ones for better traction. You also want to put some weight in the trunk if you have any hills to climb.

Good luck to you - I park my M35 Sport for the winter. I'm back to driving a beater for the winter and honestly, I think it's the best way to go if you want to keep your car long term. It eliminates all that salt/sand/rock damage, keeps the miles down, and makes you re-appreciate the car every spring when you start driving it again.
