Have you got a block heater on your car? I know that's fairly common on Canadian cars. Plug the thing in overnight. I guess if it did have one, you'd have thought of that already, though...

Alternator is what I was thinking, too. Take it to the Nissan dealer if you can start it (jump it). DON'T trust Auto Zone! I took my Max there about 6 months ago and they kept testing it and saying it was fine. I kept having troubles, took it to the dealer, and they tested the alternator and it was bad. I found the receipt to the alternator...I'd bought it from AutoZone only a year before. I wonder if it's a coincidence that it tested fine...it was still under waranty. Even if not, they still tested it wrong, and it cost me time and effort...and money, since the dealership charged me to leave the car with them to diagnose it.

It sounds like your starter if you still can't get it to turn with a new battery. Try tapping the starter itself with a hammer. That usually temporarily resolves the problem and lets you start it up.

Before I swapped out my KA, I was hitting the starter every time I started the car. That only gets you going until you replace the starter(ez).

If all else fails and you have a manual, you can roll it down a hill.

What oil weight are using? 5W30 or 5W20 helps tremondously in cold weather as do synthetic oils.
