Hi Guys,

My first post to the forum. I just replaced my 06 Mazdaspeed 6 with an O6 G35X.I have a set of winter tires and rim that I used with my speed6.Wheel: Kazera 17x7. I am not sure but I believe the offset is + 50. Tires: Dunlop Graspics DS2's 215/50 R17.

Do you guys think they will work on this car? I am concerned about the offset and the difference in overall diameter due to the lower profile especially since this is an AWD vehicle. They have just seen 2 Michigan winters and have a lot of life in them and don't want to loose money.

I saw the sticky about the OEM wheel specs which doesn't have this offset.

Thanks,

Welcome aboard!!

The oem 17's on the X is 215/55/17. The offset on the aftermarket wheels you have are 5mm higher than the stockers (45mm), which will push them in 5mm more. Those tires you have on there are more than the 3% rule of thumb for diameter difference, so I recommend selling them and getting the right size, especially on the AWD.

Welcome to NICO! Another person from AA to join me in the G forums! Yeah buddy. I was wondering when that was going to happen.

Checking out tirerack.com, for Kazera wheels all I see is 40mm for a 17x7. Which model wheel do you have, you know?

Hey Gus..

Good to know someone on these forums and you didn't scare me off smockers83. I was out and didn't really get a chance to log back in.Anyway thanks guys for the info..About the rims and tire. I may just get rid of those and stick to the OEM All Seasons for this winter.Once I wear the present set out I'll plan on switching to a set for summer and winter ones.I do have some suspension tire background so was skeptical if there is enough tolerance for these - one other drawback of the MS6 - it had uncommon specs.

AA ---good one

Yeah.. The G35 is a nice car - interior - I am not big fan off since i have the base trim level basically the center console - Seats etc are very nice. The linearity of the 6 cyl is very different from the turbo kick of the MS6. G35 is a more refined car. I'll miss ms6 though in some ways - One of the cars that you need to use to appreciate it IMHO and how Mazda screwed the pooch with a product that had good potential.

After the MS6 I guess other than a G35 or a 3-series everything else was a huge compromise. Performance - Ride and Handling wise.

Very satisfied with the g35.
