Hey everyone, just before winter hit my car went down because of a bad misfire and the clutch slave cylinder went. I have fixed those and now that the Z is away for the winter I have undertaken some little upgrades and such. These include waterline delete, aiv delete, carbon canister delete, pcv reroute, upgraded mishimoto radiator and thermostat, ebc red stuff brake pads, dual intake w/ selin translator, coils, wheels and so on. I would like to here all of your current projects and maybe give me some other ideas while the Z is under the knife.

Looks like your making some good progress, keep it up. :bigthumb:

I suggest you look into sound deadening material. We actually have a vendor on NICO called GTmat.

does the selin dual intake need an ecu chip flash ?
my slave cylinder blew out on me also a couple summers ago, pulled over to see what was up and thought "oh great" had to start her up in 1st gear and keep it in 1st all the way home with a dead clutch pedal :)

From what I understand the translator will prevent the need for a reflash, that way you don't need to run dual MAFs or a dummy MAF which will require a tune. I'm not 100% sure though.

I have lots on my agenda, might go well into the summer for some of these but here's what I have in mind for mine:

Engine rebuild (if i can find someone that will bore out my engine relatively cheap, i'll get larger pistons)
Replaced stock turbos with rebuilt stock turbos
Downpipes, midpipes
Intake - might go dual intake but I'm being optimistic
Manual boost controller installation
Larger SMIC's
Better fitting wheels/tires
Stage 2 clutch + 12lb flywheel already bought, uninstalled
Suspension bushings
ECU socket + Ashspec chip
Revamping my intercooler sprayer, larger water reservoir and lines to accomodate larger intercoolers
LED illuminated tail light center
LED bulbs in red/clear taillights (temporary until I DIY my OEM tails to look like Jspec tails)
Winfactory CSL spoiler, if im lucky come tax time
Custom 12" subwoofer enclosures to maximize trunk space
hiding Kenwood 1800W amplifier
possible DIY double din conversion
upgrading all four speakers and adding tweeters
black suede doorpanel inserts, if i dont replace seats, will rewrap seats in black suede
If i install fixed-back seats, and harnesses, i will be having a rollcage fabricated
Repainting Diamond Black Pearl
Jspec rep side skirts
Diy rear diffuser Possible...
Rally Wink mirror just to try it out, if not, broadway 320mm mirror.

oooo i forgot speakers and subs and stuff, good call, i think i'm going to drop the $40 on mdf and try to make my own enclosures, if it works i'll make a pattern and sell 'em for half the price of the other place. i'm handy like that and can probably bang out a few a day

Selin does not require a reflash; can be used with dual or single POP ECUs. However when dyno tuning, it's best to have the tuner set your ECU to dual POP parameters

The Selin does not need an ECU flash. It has 2 settings, one for a dual intake with ECU, and one without. When I installed mine (no mod to the ECU) I had a dyno done and the air/fuel was perfect. I ended up getting 13 rwhp I believe (and that is on a motor with lower compression, in need of a rebuild.)

How many miles are on your car? Should you look at a 120K mile kit?

You should powder coat your wheels...

My Z just had an overheating issue...not sure if it is a water pump or a coolent hose. I will be doing the 120K mile kit with lightweight pulleys. I will also be getting adapter kit for my AshSpec Massives so I can run them on the stock piping. Oh yeah, I will be getting a boost controler also. I wanna get my wheels powder coated...depends on the money...

I am more focused on my new DD. She needs the bumper bolted on better and stock injectors. Injectors are in and should be done shortly. We are also regrounding the MAF. I am then getting it dyno'd and tuned for gas miliage.

I am doing most of the 120k myself except for the timing belt and a few other things which I will be getting done at RDZ300 in the spring. Looking into the kevlar timing belt.

Kevlar belt is kind of a waste of money, the oem belt holds up just fine when installed properly and changed at proper intervals. Hell my brother's Z had 160k when we changed his belt which from the looks of it appeared to be the original and on it's last leg.

As for my winter project

Ooooo awesome! :) lol but thanks for the advice. And I have stainless brake lines, with oem size drilled and slotted rotors front and rear. I also run hawk hps pads and love em. I can't wait until I get some wheels so I can get some bigger rotors.
