State = RI / Car = 08' M35 Base (RWD) So the BBK is installed and running great! Looks even better!!! However, its time to start planning for winter. I had a REALLY bad year last year with my 19's and knew that this year it had to change.

I have some 2008 M35 Base factory 18's with brandy new tires but I don't' think these are an option anymore with the BBK?
Does buying 19" snow tires sound like a bad idea (as in there is not enough rubber for them to function well)?
I'd like to find some OEM 18's that will fit with the BBK, does anyone know of any that will fit (I don't care what car company, as long as I can put my Infiniti center caps on em :-D)?

Any help is much appreciated!!!

As with many things in life its width not length that matters :chuckle:

In this case try to find narrow 19s and 225 winter tires to help. I thought you could get away with 18s and a bbk?

I have all-season 245/40 (or is it 45?)/19 tires and they are fine in the winter.

I see you guys both have the m35X, my RWD is not up to par with that thing... You figure after crashing a RWD GS300 during a blizzard a few years back I'd learn but I didn't. I guess I'll be the lab rat and try mounting the 18s tonight...

AWD/RWD = 2 vs 4 wheels...but as far as size of tire, it's the same issue. That being said, 19's at 245 (if you keep it the normal size) is fine. They slice threw snow just fine. I don't always drive with SNOW mode enabled...in fact sometimes I turn it off for some 'fun' (which takes some power to do as the car is heavy).

I guess it depends on the depth of the snow fall. Last year we had quite a bit of snow and even at my tire size I felt slippage with SNOW mode on. On the other hand a RWD heavy car could be worst handling in snow that a light car because of momentum. Adversely a light car floats on snow that's why they mostly come with narrow tires.

I prefer to look at it this way. We drive a heavy car and our stock tires are wide so it may be ideal if you are super careful. If you want to enjoy winter driving take the weight factor and add skinny tires to the equation and you have a real nice handling snow machine.

Gotcha, also I have no snow button (the gs did, wtf infiniti?!), another also, the 18s dont fit at all, not because of how it protrudes from the rotor but rather because they are tall as a bastid!

2010+ Infiniti G37s sedans (sport model w/bbk) had 18" wheels that clear bbk fine! Coupe came with 19" but sedan came with 17" non bbk 18" bbk option. Look into those! If you want to stick to 18" :gotme
