A friend of mine in Minnesota, owns a 91 Q45 in near perfect shape (dark grey, stealthy for the cops, my former car) with performance tires and his winter car is a 89 Old 98 also in near perfect shape with Blizzaks.

Don't have to worry too much about winter here in South Carolina. :D I'll continue driving my 240.

In Oregon, where we DID get quite a bit of snow, my previously-owned Probe GT was my daily driver, even through the winter. A good set of studded snow tires and I had absolutely no problems.

Driving in snow isn't that difficult if you do it with a little bit of common sense.

Actually I always kinda relished driving in bad weather, even when I was living in MN with a first gen Q (300hp RWD) as my only car.Its you and your car against the elements.Just be sure to have a strong battery, the right oil and never let the tank get low.

Also:Real winter tires can transform most any car into a wannabe snowplow.

Its like 10 deg. here but no snow, I have a `86 Nissan 720 4x4 pickup that I'm trying to sell since my 240 purchase but I think I might just insure it and drive it during winter to keep my baby out of trouble....

Toyota 4Runner, but I'll usually drive my 240 during the winter if the weather is dry.

how has everyones' winter beater been for reliability in the winter? I recently moved to RI from FL and this will be my first time driving in snow. I plan on getting snow tires for my 240 and driving extra cautiously . I've heard good things about blizzaks, anyone know different? I wanted to get an old beater but I don't have the extra cash to lay down for one. I wanted to get an old nissan truck or pathfinder w/4wd. I paid for a vlsd back in august which I wanted to have for better traction but I got screwd by this fool Jacob King in Dallas Texas. Legal action is pending....

From what I've heard from Blizzak owners is they're great tires but are a bit pricey and wear faster than other brands Regardless of the brand, if you drive smoothly and conservatively you should be able to get through almost anything even in an rwd 240sx. I've driven my '89 through snow countless times, In fact drifting is fun and very easy to induce in snow.

I don't have another car, so snow tires are a wise investment for me... I guess I'll see if I can bum my dads Toyota Tacoma during the bad days.

My 89 240sx was purchased primarily for winter driving, and she does it quite well.

Heres a lil tid bit for you all. You pretty much HAVE to use a block heater here in the winter because temps reach -50 F no problem where I live.

Well last winter when I first got the 240sx I used to plug her in all the time. She started up everytime as well, no probs. Anyways when working on her over the summer months I found out the plug to the block heater was never actually plugged into the block itself!

It was jarred loose, which only proved my assumption correct that it wasn't working in the winter because I could never hear it start up once plugged it. (kinda sounds like a kettle starting to boil water on the stove for those who never used one)

Nissans are tough....

I don't have a winter car and I'm in Iowa. My 240 will have to be getting me around. I got good tread on my all-seasons so I'll be fine.
