Winter Annoyances

Now that the temps are dropping I'm curious what about your cars are bothering you guys. It's the little things that get on my nerves, the squeeks groans and creeks.My subframe bushings creek and so do my front struts until warmed up. When REALLY cold outside the steering is stiff too, i guess because of the freezing ps fluid.

My biggest pet peeve besides the obvious challenge of warming it up and sitting in a cold car for 10 minutes before it finnally warms up... i'd have to say my transmission makes more noise... its not as smooth...

My biggest winter annoyance is a tossup between snow and salt.

I know this is a bad thing but my 240 shifts better in the cold. Figure that out.

ive grown to dislike black ice quite a bit , damn pesky scars ....

oh and that damn tree in my roof , that really buggs me about my car

Well, since the temperature drop, I've been hearing a squeak coming from under the hood. It was coming from the ps pump. In the hopes that it was the belt, I had it tightened...still squeaking. As soon as my 240 gets out of the body shop from that 3mph fender bender, I'm getting it checked out.

Those are annoying, but at least no one gets hurt. I'm happy with how it's being handled. His insurance has everything squared away and I'm going to be driving a rental Jetta for a few days(sportiest thing they have...), so I will be behind the wheel of a turbo car for the first time.

My daily driver is squeaking from the rear deck, and the power steering pump is making a squeal, I'm gonna have to turn some wrenches on it and hope its just the belt, but i have a feeling it's going to need a new pump which sucks, less money for the SR20.

my ps belt started squeeling to. tried to tighten it this weekend and it's already tightned as much as possible. wtf!? Seems like every winter it's the ps belt that starts squeeling. don't know what's up with that. maybe the tensioner is going bad or something.

umm my car sits in the garage which for the most part doesn't get to freezin' alot..... I noticed today when I started it because no one drives it, and its good to let it circulate the fluids ( right? ) I found that the car made a squeek and ideled higher than what it normally does ( with the a/c off of course ) than I reved the engine a bit and noticed the squeak did it again and it was gone, so does that mean new belt or just tighten it up? HA! Never had to drive a RWD car in the snow, I did drive it once so far, and that was no fun with the Potenza's that are on it ( damn speed rating tires) other than that the Rendevous will get most of the miles!

Man i hate winter... it almost makes me feel like im slowly killing my car.......
