The windshiel washer resevoir inthe rear deck lid, drivers side of my 92 300 zx 2 door / Non turbo has been " hissing" for about 2 weeks. So i filled it with fluid and the system still does not spit wash to my windshield, though the light on the dash went out. PROBLEM - after running the car for 2 minutes i heard a KNOCK, like someone knocking bowling balls together (just one knock) and i immediately shut off my engine. Under the left side of the manifold in the engine compartment i now see blue water drops coming from what seems to be outta nowhere ? Any ideas before i attempt to start the car again ? Thanks -Sean

I'd imagine one of the hoses leading to the washer nozzles has sprung a leak, which would explain the lack of fluid on the windshield and the blue fluid dripping. Probably the best way to find the leak is to have a helper squirt the fluid while you look in the engine bay for the leak. As for the knock, I don't know how to explain that one.

The knock was the gnome making his not so stealthy escape after wreaking havoc with your windshield washer system. He will most likely be put to death for making the noise and alerting you to his sabotage,(they take that s*** seriously) so you shouldn't have to worry about him again.

But, do as the gentleman above me suggested and you should be good to go.
