While looking good?

IS that possible? haha...

I know they got to be replaced eventually but come on, I seem to be replacing them way too much on 2 cars I have had and it is rather expensive if you think about it. Just for basic wipers they can cost you up to $50 a year. is up with dat?

I was thinking that applying Rain-X to my window could be killing the rubber on the wiper but I am not sure to be honest.

I have tried most of these brands in the store... Premium, Teflon, basic you name it. None of them meet my expectations...

Trico: These are utter crap, loud and lousy wipe, They also don't last long and run you $9 bucks a wiper.

Anco: Much better than the Tricos but the wiper get harder and wipe becomes bad after some time.

Bosch: Some of the best I have had but they really only last 6 months before going out. Instead of breaking they just do bad wipes...This was summer though. So the sun could of beat them up a bit.

Rain-x:Pretty Nice wipe but a bit loud, but they came on my car and they are now breaking on the top part. And they need to be replaced.

Now, I heard that Michelin makes a wiper now that is bend with a tensil strength and when applied to the window it goes perfect but I did not like the looks of these ones, but I don't mind trying to find them to try them out. IF I can find them for a decent price...

What wipers have you used and recommend?

i have had these bosch icons since december 05. they are like the new michelins, just been around longer. bosch started making these a long time ago for merc. benz and bmw. i use the rain x washer fluid which applies rain x everytime you spray it. it also has de-icer and it won't freeze up on you. the icons are roughly $50 for our cars, but as you can tell, well worth it. you can get the icons and rain x at your local advance auto parts. give it a shot bro.

You think you have problems with wipers... HAHAHAHAHAHA

You know nothing of rain. Try living in Wa. state. It never stops raining. I use Rain X and Rain X fluid, and burn through a pair of Bosch's in less than a year.

The yearlong wiper will be invented, right after the everlasting gobstopper.

I agree with your thought that RainX eats wipers. I've noticed that awhile after, when it starts wearing off and I have to use the wipers again that it will leave a bunch of rubber lines on the winshield. (or maybe it's just really cheap wipers..)

however, I really hate the RainX washer fluid (orange stuff). That stuff leaves huge white waxy streaks running down your car.

I hate wipers. HATE THEM.

No matter what brand I get, how much I spend, they ALWAYS find a spot on the windshield to miss. Doesn't help that 90% of the time I need my wipers it's freezing outside. Shouldn't wiper blades be made NOT to freeze solid?Of course, that could have to do with the fact that you can't keep a windshield unbroken for more than a week in this damn state. You'd think roads were supposed to be made of gravel and Peterbilts were designed specifically for spitting the gravel at my car. I feel like UDOT owes me a windshield and a paint job...

If someone found me a wiper that works EVERY time I turn it on, I wouldn't care if it only lasted a week. I may have to look into these Michelin ones. I couldn't care less what they look like--doesn't really matter if I can't see to drive the car.

I'm not a fan or rainx products, either. Seems like they leave more stuff on the windshield than they take off.

good news. im glad to hear it from somebody else as well, not that i didnt trust jeremiah, but the more people who say good things about a product then the better the product right? im not very familiar w/the icons and have never used them before but i always get bosch brand wipers anyways, so i guess ill step it up a notch and grab a set of icons!!

plus once installed, i think they look cooler than your typical blade

Wow, good looking out on this helpful link... Very helpful products and very good tips are there for sure. I would like to buy the Spot treatment and Tint care cleaner the most out of all that. Cause my window does have stuborn water spots that I can barely get out at all...

I also was taking a poke around some Mercedes boards(Yea, I have a 98 Merc280S but I like my MaxSE better and it is much faster and Stick. BTW I am selling it btw PM for more info) and people have said that Valeo Ultimates are some really nice wipers and are the same design and just like the Icons. The . They are the price of the Icons on Tirerack.com @ $20 bucks a pop because I guess the company lowered their main price. Which was $40 a pop before.

Make sure not to get double-sided wipers. They are known to put undue stress on wiper motors.

Just bought the Icons, so far I am loving them. They are pretty nice although, I thought they would be a little tighter on the windshield but than again, it is good they are not too tight because you don't want to weaken the motor over time.

O and $42 bucks... yeeesh.. but I hope they last a year like they are said to last.

i have no probs out of rain x (orange stuff) or my icons still! not sure what a double sided wiper is, but the icons have a fin on the top side to help keep them from chattering at higher speeds. i know they stay on the window at 120. (had to test out the product for the customers!) they are expensive but WORTH it. only returns i've ever had from icons are ones when people put them on cars with a flat style windshield.
