It seems to me that if you were going to modify the washer nozzles, the ideal solution would be to extend them onto the wipers so that they are spraying on either side of the wipers instead of having them spray or jet from below. That said, I don't know if there are aftermarket washer nozzles at all, much less for any given M specifically, but it seems like if you were going with my suggestion, about anything would work (it's just a question of how ugly the hardware and its connections would look vs how much you're willing to do to make it look good / cover it up).

I know in the Maxima world people were using Murano ones? But those are all hood mounted, which the M isn't. So...I don't think we have any options. I would prefer a mist myself.

I have to say for a 57K car my M37 washer spray pattenr is lame, barely hits the windshield, would hate to see how ineffective it will be at highway speeds.

anyone know the part number for this? And is it a direct fit, or are there any mods required?

I just use rain-x glass treatment on the windshield and the washer fluid flows better but the nozzles from the other vehicle mentioned sound interesting if its an easy swap.

I hate those F-ing nozzles too. The ones in my wife's 08 Pathfinder work flawlessly.

Same here with my 06 M45 nozzles. I've had them "re-aimed" "unclogged" and even replaced. My second-to-most-recent visit had the dealer tell me they were fine even though the driver's side only had two streams when the car went in and when it came out. My most recent visit was the same, except when I got it back I actually had three streams again (for the first time in many many months). I would like to put the QX56 nozzles on if that was going to solve the problem, but not if/when they clog (not sure whether or not clogging is inevitable for some reason on our cars) I wouldn't have any stream at all.

Bump... Anyone know what year QX56 nozzles are supposed to fit the 2006 M45 and/or whether or not I'd be risking having no spray at all on the driver's side?

I had suffered with the driver's side nozzle's 'piss-poor' performance for too long.
The advanced type nozzle was too difficult and expensive to replace.
So...with the hood open using mirror and flashlight, I took a medium sized sewing needle and inserted it several times into each of the three nozzles.
I then used my compressed canned air with plastic wand and blew into each nozzle. Then operated the washer and "Aha !" I had three good pissers. Now the cool part is that each of the three nozzles are adjustible which means that using the needle, I could precisely aim where I wanted each of the three nozzles to aim. Whereas some owners have complained that the driver's side was not as strong as the passenger, I found them to be equal in volume and pressure. BUT... the secret is to ONLY fill your washer tank with distilled water unless you are using special washer fluid which contains distilled water. This way, no mineral deposits to cause future problems. Hope this helps. R.

On my M, I had that same issue - 3 different sprays on each side, but all of them hitting at or near the bottom of the wind screen. I took it to the dealer and their response was - nothing wrong ?!?!?. I did basically the same thing rlane did. I bent a bobby pin to make an L shape, inserted the sharp end into each of the six jets a few times, sliding it in and out deeply and repeatedly (oi that bit sounded dirty!) . The trick is to get the entire length of the pin to go all the way IN and out, not just slide it in a smidge. Eventually the entire length of the pin would slid in and out. That was nearly a year ago and since then, all 6 jets fire nice and strong in slightly different angles hitting the glass from top to bottom and left to right. Seems to use more fluid than necessary - 6 different sprayers? That's overkill.

As far as changing to a different nozzle, I wouldn't.
