Let's discuss windshield washer nozzle adjusting and cleaning tricks.

I use a .025 wire feeler gauge to repoint the nozzle. I'd like something bigger, and I ever stumble across a #71 drill bit (.026), I'll try that. .028 (next feel gauge larger, and next drill bit size) is too big.

It will take a bit of force to break the nozzle loose from the hard water stuff that's accumulated.

Check whether things are pointed right with the engine running. The slight extra voltage makes a difference.

The nozzles have two positions: too high, and too low. ;)

I stick the end of a straight pin in to adjust. You're right that sometimes you need a little force to get them to move.

I bought new super sprayers this year, holy s*** does it ever spit alot of fluid!!!

But a pin head in the nozzle has always worked for me for adjustment

here is a stupid question,

does any body know where to look, or can explain the routing of the hoses for the windshield washer system

my 99 qx4 was involved in some kind of an accident on the pass. side and i have to do the entire routing of the hoded all over...

i gotta go from the pumps all the way back the front seems simple enuff, but the rear is where i am confused, there are 2 exiting lines coming from the pump but there is only one hose to the rear system

IIRC, on my '01, there's one line from the pump to the two front nozzles with a T close to one nozzle, and one line from the pump to the back.

my pumps have 2 nozzles on them...

the front and rear both have 2 nozzles, which is leading me to believe that there are supposed to be two hoses (4 total) going from the pump(rear and front, thats how i got the 4 total from)

when i try to was h the windshield only a small trickle of water exits the nozzle for the rear washer, and the front ones are almost just as bad, does this mean i have to clean the nozzles or have new pump?
