There's been a vibration bugging me at low speeds on bumpy side streets that has me at my wits end.

I believe I narrowed it down to the external passenger side windshield trim. I can pull the lower portion off of the windshield with ease. Looking underneath, it appears there should be some sort of white latch that is supposed to hold it down, but has been broke off (windshield was replaced before I bought the car). Trying to tug on the driver side trim, it is pretty solidly attached to the frame with, presumably, the connector that should be used for this.

Does anybody know what I can do about this? Is there a way to find the connector broken? Is it fairly easy to remove the whole piece of trim so I can better figure out what's broken and replace as necessary? Or atleast Jerry-rig something.

I did end up pulling up on the trim piece and found that the lower 2 metal clips were missing. The upper two clips were present, but covered in a bunch of black RTV, as were the lower two mount locations in a poor effort to epoxy the trim to the A pillar.

I removed the RTV best I could and have the trim piece somewhat in place. It actually seems more secure now than before, but still not secure enough. The service manual says to use 3M DP-100 epoxy or equivalent to secure new clips. Instead of getting new clips. I'm going to epoxy the trim directly to the A-piller again, except use better epoxy and find a way to hold it in place better, and also put a bit extra epoxy/rubber on the top where I believe it to have been making the noise. Here's hoping it all works!

Whoever replaced this window deserves a kick to the groin.

instead of epoxy try using 3m double stick tape first. that way it's not a "permanent" fix incase you need to remove it for some reason.

That's a good idea. Might give that a try today.

Oh, and all this and it didn't even solve the noise problem!

After further testing, I believe I found it to be the LED light wires in the overhead. I taped them suckers down and it's quieter, atleast on the 5 minute test drive afterwards.

3M's strongest double sided tape didn't come close to working. Black silicone adhesive/sealant didn't come close to working.

Ended up using Loctite super glue. Worked immediately and well, although it still has to stand up to some abuse on the road.

Only downside......
I got a little bit of super glue on my paint on the A-pillar and when I went to wipe it away, it just made it worse. Now that it's dried, it's not too noticeable so I may just leave it. I've been reading around and it seems some 3M Adhesive Remove or simply some acetone will do as long as it's used quickly and carefully as to not ruin the paint - but another reason I'll probably just leave it since it's small and not noticeable.

Goof Off gets alot of stuff off too - just be careful with it.
