I've just changed the low windshield fluid level sensor in 2016 QX80. And sprayers got reversed - turning it for front activates front windshield wipers but sprays at the back. Turning on the back activates rear wiper and sprays in the front.

How could that happened? It seems that there is ONE pump for both front and back, it has 2 outlets but only one on-off electrical connection, and it seems to be pumping for both front and back when it is turned on. So even if the hoses going out of the pump were to be reversed, it should not make a difference.

So what is the problem? Thanks

Or is the sprayer pump motor (also changed) polarity controlled and is pushing fluid out on only one of the two outlets depending on polarity? And replacement motor has been manufactured with reversed polarities?

Yep, if you didn't change the hoses around then the polarity of the motor is wrong. If there's enough slack in the hoses to allow it, swapping those will be easier than unpinning the electrical connector.

Thanks! That must be it. Too bad it's put together and I don't feel like removing the wheel liner again. I see the hose going to front wipers at the top of the fender, but I don't see how the back hose is routed - cutting and swapping them would be easiest if I could find the one going to the back without removing the liner again.

Sounds like it's gonna be one of those quirks that you just live with... every older car has one!

The only good place to swap the electrical pins is at the motor, and that's probably also the only good place you can swap hoses. So unless you want to just live with it, I think you're into peeling the liner back again either way.
