I have a couple nice stress cracks in my windshield in my 92 240sx coupe. With the HUD. They want over $1000 for that windshield . Damned expensive!

You got the windshield with the HUD?? What is the deductable for your insurance? It would be awesome if my insurance would pay for it. Do you think they will cover it? They are just stress cracks.

my deductible is $100. oh i dunno what HUD is but if the windshield is cracked, im sure insurance will help? call your insurance company up and see what they can do for you, if anything i doubt it'll cost much. always better to ask.

I was talkin about the extra laminate in the window for the heads up display on the coupe model, they want $1000 for the HUD window.

its possible the premium could go up if it wasn't damaged by other things. but the insurance there is to help you. you don't pay for it every month for it do nothing.

yea, well my insurance company has been ghey like that in the past. A tire truck backed into my 92 Civic Si last year. It left about a 2" dent and smashed out the taillight. I had a $250 deductable, premium would increase and it would mess up my record that didn't currently have any claims. I think i am gettin screwed on my insurance anyways. But hey thanks for your help!

Go to a pick-a-part and grab an non-HUD windshield. Yeah, I know you HUD guys get attached to your purpley-gold reflector, but 30% mirror tint works just as well, according to what I read here and on Zilvia. HUD windshield = $1000, but junkyard non-HUD + 2" x 4" of tint film = less than your insurance deductible, MAYBE $150.
