you're gonna brake it if you've never done it before. So get a w/s lined up to go in for when you need to put it back in. it is possible though. I've used piano wire made for glass work.

1. clear everything out of the way all around the w/s... mouldings weatherstrips

2. using a pair of needle nose pliers insert one end of about an eight foot length of piano wire into the bottom outside middle of the urethane (black glue stuff) holding the w/s... pull through to the top of the dash.

3. repeat with same end going through the inside top middle and pull through to the outside top by the roof.

4. wrap each end of wire around either piano wire holding tools or needle nose pliers. make sure they will not come undone easily

5. two or three man job here... keeping the wire flat with the glass but no pressure against the glass pull one end of the wire at a 90 degree angle with the glass while holding the other end taught. what you are trying to do is cut the urethane with the wire very very carefully and slowly. have one man on each end of the wire and cut half of the w/s out at a time. the third person can use plastic paddles or "bones" to hold the wire away from the glass and paint.

6. once one side is cut new wire might be needed b/c it usually coils up. repeat for other side where urethane is not cut. careful at the last few inches of attached urethane the glass will pop up when its completely cut.

I've done this many times usually rechecks on other glassmen trying to put a w/s in the wrong way to save time and no one wants to have to buy another new w/s. I've cracked them this way too its not 100% gauranteed to work even if you know what you're doing ask any glassman. goodluck
