Any reputable windshield replacement shop should be able to reseal your windshield for cheap.

In order to reseal properly, they need to pop out your windshield temporarily.

I have the exact same problem with the rear window. I was thinking of taping everything up and painting it, but I guess il go to a window place.

On the wifes 97 J I removed all of the black plastic and polished the metal underneath with a dremel it looks like chrome.

did you have to do anything to the polished molding to prevent it from rusting?

I just waxed it with car wax it has been about 8 months and through a Florida rainy season with no rust.
