windshield issue

i have an 89 240 and currently the only speeds that work on my wipers are the last two speeds...fast and very fast. the intermidiate doesnt seem to work. The dealership seems to think there is an amp that controls this and the replacement is 100 bucks. does anyone know if there is an amp that controls the speed and could be causing the issue im having and if so where is it located? id like to try and find a used one at a junkyard or something before i fork over a hundred bucks to the dealership.

i know there is a relay type thing for the windshield wipers idk if it controls the speeds but it may, its usually in a green box in your engine bay by your driver side wheel well and brake master cylinder.
Give it a look you should be able to "click" it and it should turn your wipers on you may need the key in the on position but give it a try.
