The header garnish is no longer available from the dealer. I had the same problem. You can take it off and refiberglass the back side to fix the cracks and use interior trim paint or material to recover the part once its fixed.

Not sure on the hole?

Long time no see, sxxy1992. I just checked and hole is for the light. Your interior light is missing.

sorry, I just had to laugh, because if you saw my picture, which I am trying to load onto here, the hole I am talking about is to the front of the molding, facing the front of the car. I know about the larger, square hole for the light; my light is screwed into it. Will try to get the pic put up soon.[IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [/IMG] but you have that cool set of lights below the rearview mirror. True map lights. Mine only comes on with the door open, which is difficult to do when you are driving and need it for some reason. does the power for your mirror lights happen to plug up inside that little hole in the front of the garnish molding, perchance??

A previous owner might have put a hole in your trim. I haven't seen it on other verts. Most verts have a crack in the trim around there, though.

The wiring for the lights is tucked up into the window frame above the trim piece. There is a pretty large connector for the mirror surrounded in foam tape up there; you need to drop out the interior light to get it at it (properly).

If your map light doesn't work properly and you have a strange hole in the trim, I wonder if your car didn't originally have the map light mirror. Someone might have put one in and wired it in series with the main interior light.

no, mine does not have the maplite mirror. Just the standard issue day/night mirror. The other guy has the map-lite mirror. I just have a small light that comes on when the door is open. But the hole at the front of the garnish molding is factory formed, I'm sure. When I figure how to post a picture on here, I will get it out there. thanks for the suggestions.
