Hi. I bought a vert about 3 mois ago. The car seemed to be in good shape for a 240sx up in Canada. Started to do some work with the Top, since it needed a new one. After finishing to remove the top, i tooked some pieces of the windshield frame out, because there was some rust on the frame.

And then .... WOW ! Here are some pictures after removing all trims, plastic , windshield ,etc.... reallly HORRIBLE.

Driver Bottom Fender Side. Rusted.

Driver Windshield Frame. Rusted.

EWWWWWWWWWW ! Passenger Windshield frame. Rusted and Rotten.

Passenger Bottom fender side... ''good'' shape.

SO here i am, trying to find some parts, which are hard to find. Dealership prices are wayyyy too expensive, and used Vert in canada are SO rare. Last option, trying to rapair it using cheap metal.

That's a lot of rust my friend.

You might seriously consider picking up a new 'vert shell and starting from scratch. There is on in another thread today in Pittsburgh, PA, USA. Would be a bit of a drive for you.. but I think very well worth it. You can use the good parts from your car with the good shell from that car and make a nice project.

WOW..

dude.. in all honesty don't bother tryin to fix that car.. 240sx's simply aren't worth d!ck.. and that one is ruined..

your best option is to drive state side and pick one up if they are as rare as you say they car...

there is ALOT more rust on that car then you can see...

do your self a favor

*edit*

pull your dash.. there will probably be more rust in the cowl and beside the a pillar where all the wiring harness is

Indeed, a lot of rust. Yeah, I've been checking for that vert. I just can't take any more rust on a car anymore, eh. Since i'm located in Canada, i need to know if the car has a good Floor + frame and a GOOD windshield Frame... Considering it's in good shape, it would be the best option.

The color of the car is from a 300zx. I bought it like that.

Rust.... The windshield Frame is the main rust factor on this car. Indeed, there is rust beside the A pillar... above the clutch pedal too. Weird thing is, the Framerails are in excellent condition, and so is the floor. Weatherstrip around the windshield was probably bad, causing the water to enter the frame down to the fender and yadayadayada... The previous owner(s) did a sh*tty job on the body, since after working on the car found there was A LOT of bondo and the Gravel guard was hiding some rust spot.

Anyway, I'll let you guys know.
