Ok, so I picked up a nice souvenir from my trip last weekend, a small chip in my windshield, probably 2-3mm across

Is there a way to patch this? I think I would want to get something in there before we start going through the freeze thaw cycle that tears up the roads around here.

There are some products on the market that are supposed to fill the chips in, but I've never had a good experience with them. Then again, I used it for much larger cracks than recommended.

There should be companies who fix them professionaly.

Just about all auto glass shops can do a windshield repair. It usually costs only $50. Check your insurance coverage as well. Many comprehensive and glass policies will waive the deductible if the windshield can be safely repaired rather than replaced.

I got the same souvenir this weekend. Except mine spidered the windsheild about the size of a nickle. It is going to cost me my deductible to replace the glass.
