Windshield chip repair? Clear coat repair?

Has anyone have any experiance with Windshield chip repair? or Clear coat repair on a Versa?

got a 1/4" chipped/cracked on the windshield.....

Chipped windshields are a part of life in AZ. Your nearest auto parts store should carry a chip repair kit for about $5-$10.....worked pretty well in my experience (as long as you're dealing with a chip, not an actual crack)

it is a 1/4" crack line....would the repair thing work?

probably not if you can actually see that there is a crack line. Do you have glass coverage on your insurance? Check with your insurance carrier in regards to waiving the deductible. I know that in AZ and NJ, due to new legislation as long as you have glass coverage, insurance companies are supposed to waive any deductible when replacing the windshield. (this according to my agent, I had my windshield replaced about a 3 months ago free of charge even with a $500 deductible.)

Yep. Here in PA it's called "comprehensive coverage". I've had a winshield replaced (in a different car) and it was 100% covered with no deductable.

So does it has to be replace? repair won't work? I read many websites talk about repair crack line.....Any try to repair before?
