windscreen for sunroof

My dealer installed a windscreen on the sunroof. Noise level when the sunroof is open is very tolerable. I have never removed it to compare. I'm not totally sold on the look.

For those of you that don't have one, how is the wind noise? I'm on the fence about keeping it. It does help to block some of the sun's searing rays. Thanks -

Mine isn't really that noisy, but I rarely use it in the open option, I mainly use it in the tilt position. My car is a G so there may be a difference involved.

Did they use that two sided tape to put it on, or is it screwed on?

There are two screws holding it, but I don't know if tape is also used.

In both my Maxima and my G I have had no wind noise issues at all with it all the way open.

Last night I was driving with my sunroof wide open on the highway. For the hell of it, I reached up & pulled down the little flip-up deflector that goes up when the sunroof opens. To my surprise, it was A LOT quieter with the deflector in the down position! The wind noise at 70 MPH was less with the deflector being held down! Wind buffeting in the cabin seemed about the same. I tried it up & down a few more times with the same results. It wasn't unusually windy out either. Weird!

i found lot of wind noise when sunroof is opened, comparing to my tiny moonroof w/ my old Acura RSX. I will try your suggestion tonight.... Thanks

I could have sworn that at one point Infiniti offered a wind deflector as a PIO, but now I don't see it offered anywhere as an option or an accessory.

I decided to remove the windscreen and compare the wind noise. I have the factory crossbars, and noticed that with the sunroof closed the turbulence noise caused by the crossbars was reduced with it removed. But, with the sunroof open the windnoise noted by nghivdo was much louder than when the windscreen was installed.

My takeaway: if you don't have the crossbars, the windscreen makes for a quieter ride with the sunroof open, and isn't noticable when the sunroof is closed. If you have the crossbars, then the windscreen makes it noisier open or closed.

In the car before the EX, a 2005 Saab 93 I also noticed that when I would pull down with my hand the little pop up deflector on the sunroof when going at higher speeds, it would markedly reduce the amount of whooshing wind noise in the cockpit. However it would slightly increase the wind buffeting. The sound would change from a loud "whooshing" wind blowing, to a more quiet buffeting sound that i rather prefer especially when driving on a summer night with the sunroof open and on the highway. I haven't tried this on the EX but I assume it would have the same effect. I guess the manufacturers would rather reduce the buffeting effect(maybe it effects the pressure around the backseat passengers more), and not the wind noise. I wish there was a way to stop this little deflector from popping up, especially since this car is much quieter overall than my saab, from road noise to engine noise to wind noise its a pleasure otherwise.

The pop up wind deflector is there to keep your car from acting like a giant parachute in the wind. instead of wind being deflected if you lower that deflector air will go in the car. This will make your fuel consumption go up slightly. Especially in the highway.
