Window will not roll down - please help

My driver's side window won't roll down. It just clicks. What is the most likely problem?

I have to scan a security card everyday to and from work, so I would like to get parts ordered so i can fix it over the weekend.

This could be a bad motor, or lubrication needed where the motor meets the track.

Related story: I had rolled down all the windows a couple of days ago to get the stink of the PO out of my "new" car, and it was somewhat of a misty day. Well, the temps dropped below freezing and all that mist turned to ice. All of the windows froze completely open! I got one up by jiggling it and cracking the ice seal, but had to turn on the car and let the heater do its thing before the rest would come up.

Ha ha. Try living where I am. It went down to -29C (-20F) last night. My windows have been frozen shut for a week.
Better than frozen open I guess....lol

Yes, knowing your location would help. My '01 driver's window worked perfectly 'til it snowed then hit 0 in SE MI. Then, in the Walgreens drive-thru, it went "rrrrrt" and "tensed" (seemed to start moving but didn't) and stayed literally and figuratively frozen in place. Worked fine the next day though, then stuck the next, etc.

Does your glass physically move at all? Where does the sound come from? Did it stop at once or fail over time? Please add details.

The next time i drove the car after posting this, the window worked. It has been a couple of weeks now and I haven't had a problem since. I live in Oklahoma and the temperature was just a little below freezing, but I don't think it could have been frozen shut. I'm pretty sure it was a short on the window motor. The click came from the car door, and the window did not move at all. Of all my windows, the driver's side actually rolls up and down the best, so I'd say it stopped all at once.
