Washing my car windows has always been the biggest pain when it comes to keeping my car clean and the Versa is no exception. I find that no matter what methods or products I use, I still have spotty, swirly windows. Sure, I can see out of them, but I am one of those folks who is pretty obsessive about every detail and grimy windows are one of my biggest pet peeves. It's especially aggravating when the sun hits the windows and I can barely see because of the glare created by all the swirls.

If there are an particular brands of glass cleaner, automotive or otherwise, that have worked well for you or any kind of methods that get results, I would greatly appreciate you filling me in. Thanks.

Stoner Invisible glass and a microfiber towel is the way to go.

Stoner Invisible Glass is actually the product I have been using most recently and, for whatever reason, it hasn't done any better than the Rain-X glass cleaner or Windex Automotive. I use a microfiber towel too. It just doesn't seem to get them as clean as I'd like. They could always be grimier, but they certainly aren't invisible by any means.

I've had good luck with windex (commercial grade with ammonia) and brown paper towels (or newsprint).

His windows are tinted, you're never uspposed to use ammonia-based cleaners on tinted windows.

I don't have any aftermarket tinting on my windows, it affects the factory tinting? Good thing I never did this to the Versa (I've done this in previous vehicles). I actually used Windex (ammonia-free) wipes on the Versa last time I cleaned the windows. Thanks for the heads-up!

Is there such thing as a "factory installed tint"?

I was under the impression that all tints were done either by the dealership or the owner and that the only difference would arise from the quality of the materials and workmanship.

Yes, almost all modern automobile windows have a mild tinting agent mixed into the glass prior to the glass being formed. This is to help block UV rays, or to give the glass a slight bluish/orange/blackish hue.

Windex does not affect the slight factory tint in the glass, as it is impregnated in the glass itself. It only affects aftermarket tint, which is a film affixed to the glass.
